First off… I know I’ve been bad and not blogging, but in my defense the past month has been extremely busy and I’m just starting to come up for air. I promise to get more posts up!
Even with all the busy times I’ve found that taking time off through it all is much needed. So what does this photographer do to take the stress away and regroup? The answer is MOPEDS!
Yes, mopeds or as I like to call it MO’PEDS. They are amazing and I’m loving the culture that surrounds them. Truth be told - I have not had a hobby that hasn’t revolve around “photography” in years. For me moped culture and riding is a way to not only just be me, but to escape my “life behind the camera lens.” When we are out riding we don’t talk about my photography business, we don’t talk about past or upcoming shoots, and most importantly we don’t talk about photo drama!
So what do we talk about? We talk about riding, carbs, how fast a bike can go, jets and road stories. We wrench together and we ride for the sake of riding. While I normally have a camera on me… I rarely take a photo. I snap a pic when I feel like it and it’s not expected of me.
This is what I needed. Mopeds saved my sanity.
Photo is an outtake from the mecca midwest rally “Salute Your Ports” in South Haven, Michigan. Shot with a Canon EOS Rebel SL1 (moped camera) and Canon’s EF 40mm f/2.8 STM pancake lens.
