Title: Eric “Batman” Mullins.I’m fond of 2 things… beardos and baristas! Put them together and you get a whole lot of awesome sauce, case in point - this photo of my friend Eric Mullins. He not only makes a mean coffee but he is a superhero!Side note: this shot is also Straight Out Of Camera (SOOC) with my Fujifilm X100 set to Provia/STANDARD using a custom white balance. I’ve been not only on a roll with these SOOC shots - but I strive for them. The X100 is totally my BFF and trusty sidekick!the UGLY MUG cafe and roasteryYpsilanti, Michiganwww.uglymugypsi.com

Title: Beardo Without a Cause.I’m often asked: “What do you do to get out of a photo slump?”Let me start off by saying that it’s very normal for one to get into a photo slump - for me these moments in time tend to come right after I’ve been extremely busy with work and find myself with welcome down time. Or should I call it unwelcome down time?…So what do I do to get myself out of a photo slump? One of the key things that I’ve found very helpful to get out of a slump is to work on other peoples photographs. I reach out to my friends and to other photographers for photos that they might be having problems processing or photos that they might not feel happy with or maybe they are unsure of how to execute a particular look to a photo. I even named this process many years agao… I call the term “Pimping Pixels!”“Pimping Pixels” is very refreshing and I get recharged looking and working on other peoples images - it takes me away from my own photography and gets me to focus on something else. So the answer is easy… I “Pimp other peoples Pixels” to get out of a photo slump! After working on a few photos I’m fired up and ready to take photos again! This photo was taken by Tommy Valdez and Pimped by me!
