Title: Corner Shopped.
Sometimes… well now that I think of it, every dang time a minimalist shot is full of win.
Title: Multiple Personalities.
We all know I love my Canon EOS 5D Mark III… I mean hell I can’t stop talking about it. One of the new features I’m really enjoying is the ability to do in-camera digital “multiple exposure”. You can combine up to 9 exposures and the way the Digic 5 processor put them together is nothing less than stunning. The new chip really takes into count multiple exposures and replicating the same principles of doing so with film. White/sparce areas become washed and darker areas lay on more expanse for images to pile on. One added bonus is the Mark III saves all the images individually as well, so if you want just a single image from the mix, you are NOT out of luck - something that you can’t do with a film camera!
So there, I love my 5D Mark III… but then you already knew that! Total digital SLR hotness.
Title: Couplet.
It has been a few weeks since I got my Fujifilm X100 out and taken a Fun Photo. There has been no time to get out the X100 and play - I have missed holding her and I have missed taking a Fun Photo! Now that I’ve said that I want to clarify what I mean by “Fun Photo”… I use this term when taking about photographs where a deadlines are not a concern, where the final output does not determine my value and where I take a photo for just the fun of taking a photo. I enjoy my life as a professional photographer and will never complain about my job, life and opportunities - but sometimes I need to take a photo just hear the shutter click. For me, that is this Fun Photo.
*Disclaimer: All my shoots are fun, all my clients are amazing and I’m always on point to rock it out!
Title: Creative Outlet.
When my creative mind needs a boost I think about these 5 easy to remember mantras that help me refocus my thoughts, charge my brainwaves and help me feel positive and move me towards a creative action.
1. I do not always have to be right.
2. Everything can be improved.
3. My thoughts do not have to make sense.
4. A cold cup of coffee is still coffee… heat it up!
5. Anything is possible, even when tackling the impossible.
When you hit a roadblock with creativity just say one of these mantras to yourself and trust me on this - you will move forward. Remember, everyone goes through a creative low - it’s how you move out of it that counts!
